Woman Claims Her Eyeliner Stayed in Place During a Car Crash

Looking in the mirror to see that your perfectly crafted winged eyeliner is now an irreparable stain is a pain every makeup lover can relate to, but a kat von d cosmetics customer claims to have found an eyeliner eyes that will withstand anything, even a car accident.

twitter user lahari was looking at reviews to help her decide on a new eyeliner, when this review of kat von d’s $20 tattoo liner, left by a reviewer with the username bluntredhead, caught her eye

“y’all really was here looking for a new eyeliner and check out this review lmfaooo,” she tweeted. “she died: she took a picture with the neck brace. I’m dead.”

The review features a photo of the author wearing a neck brace, smudged mascara, and a bloody forehead, but the eyeliner is perfectly in place.

her review claims the photo was taken in the ER after she was struck by a distracted driver at 55 miles per hour.

“mascara was running down my face from crying and all other products had been removed in the hospital ride,” wrote bluntredhead. “but not my tattoo liner.”

since lahari’s tweet about the impressive review went viral, the reviewer, whose name is shelby, has tweeted to confirm that she thinks the product is real.

“girl when you find a good product you gotta share the info,” shelby tweeted.

shelby told insider she was surprised to see her review, which was actually posted eight months ago, getting so much attention.

“I was definitely surprised that this went viral,” he told us. “I rarely use twitter so when my notifications went off at 2am I was like what?”

For those wondering why shelby took the photo in the first place, she tweeted that the photo was actually for police evidence, but she was surprised at how good her eyeliner looked.

shelby also originally posted the photo to her instagram in June 2017 to update her friends and family about the accident, from which she has since made a full recovery, telling buzzfeed news that she left the review after receiving feedback On top of how impeccable her eyeliner looked.

lahari’s tweet about shelby’s review received over 331,000 likes at press time, with many saying it convinced them to give it a try.

lahari even reached out to kat von d to see if she could get something out of all this free publicity.
