2023 Audi A5 Review, Pricing, and Specs

overview

Offered as a hardtail or convertible coupe, the Audi A5 is a four-seat two-door sporting a sleek design and a sizeable cargo hold. While we reviewed the four-door A5 Sportback separately, all A5 models, regardless of the number of doors, feature standard all-wheel drive and share a 261-hp turbocharged four-cylinder mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission. Those looking for extra power can upgrade to the 349-hp S5, which boosts the two-door’s dynamic performance but costs nearly $10,000 more. (Audi also offers the 444-hp RS 5 Coupe in form. Plans to drop over $75,000 for this model.)

The a5, however, offers an entertaining drive without the rougher ride of its more powerful relatives. Though its driver-focused cockpit foregoes some of the expected comforts, like properly padded armrests, the A5’s generous cargo space makes it a surprisingly practical and well-rounded option.

price and which one to buy

We recommend the mid-range premium plus trim level as it is the best balance of features and price. It comes with nice things like the company’s digital gauge display, keyless entry with push-button start, and a wireless charging pad. the tougher decision here is to go topless or not, but ultimately we think you’re better off sticking with the least expensive coupe.

As you slide behind the leather-wrapped steering wheel, a motorized arm pushes the seat belt forward so it’s within reach of your left shoulder. The seat bottoms are narrow but provide enough comfort and support for long road trips, and a manual thigh extension should satisfy the long-legged.

everything looks and feels beautifully put together, durable and solid. the only attribute missing is a luxurious feel. The armrests are lightly padded, while other high-end touches like heated rear seats or a power-adjustable steering wheel are simply missing.

However, the coupe’s roomy trunk and flexible folding rear seatbacks provide an unexpected amount of cargo capacity. 16 carry-on bags can also fit inside with the rear seats folded down. it’s too bad the various storage bins and cubbies aren’t as useful.
